Face Up Solitaire – Play the Classic Game with a Twist

Welcome to Face Up Solitaire on solitairex.io – the ultimate destination for enjoying the classic Solitaire experience with a refreshing twist! Unlike traditional versions where cards are hidden, all cards are dealt face-up, making this variant faster, more strategic, and perfect for sharpening your skills.

How to Play Face Up Solitaire

Face Up Solitaire follows the familiar rules of Klondike Solitaire, but with one major difference – no hidden cards.

  1. Layout: The game begins with seven tableau columns, and all cards are face-up from the start.
  2. Objective: Build four foundation piles (one for each suit) in ascending order, from Ace to King.
  3. Moves:

    • Move cards between tableau columns by alternating colors and in descending order.
    • Only Kings (or valid stacks starting with a King) can be placed in empty tableau spots.
    • Build up the foundation piles with cards of the same suit, starting from the Ace.
  4. Deck Use: In some versions, you may also draw from a stockpile. All drawn cards are visible and usable.

Game Rules

  • No hidden cards: Every card is visible, allowing you to plan every move carefully.
  • Single-deck: The game uses one standard 52-card deck.
  • One-move undo: Optional feature depending on settings.
  • No luck of the draw: Since all cards are visible, the game emphasizes strategy over chance.

Strategies for Winning

1. Plan several moves ahead With all cards revealed, you can think multiple moves in advance. Prioritize freeing up foundation cards and low-ranking cards.

2. Use empty tableau spaces wisely Only place a King or a descending stack starting with a King into empty spots. Avoid filling them too quickly – wait for the most strategic option.

3. Prioritize building foundations Get Aces and low cards to the foundation as early as possible to clear up space.

4. Maximize mobility Try to make sequences that allow the most movement. Don't rush to move cards unless it opens up better opportunities.

La Belle Lucie Solitaire: Your Chill Guide to the Most Charming One-Deck Card Game

La Belle Lucie (French for “the beautiful Lucy”) is a fan-style solitaire that dates back to the 19ᵗʰ century. You deal the whole deck into little fans of three cards, and then try to build each suit up to the King. It’s quick to learn, surprisingly deep, and perfect for a five-minute mental reset (or a two-hour rabbit hole—no judgment here).

Osmosis Solitaire Online: How to Play, Rules, Tips & History

Welcome to Osmosis Solitaire! This unique patience card game – also known as "Treasure Trove" – offers a fresh twist on classic solitaire. In Osmosis, you build up four foundation piles by suit, but (unlike games like Klondike) you don’t have to follow numerical order. Instead, cards of the same rank “filter down” into lower foundations only after appearing in higher ones – a quirky mechanic that inspired the name Osmosis. It’s a friendly-yet-challenging solitaire variant that’s perfect for casual play.
