Jump in and start matching cards in this timeless card puzzle! 👾

How to Play 🃏

Playing Double Pyramid Solitaire is easy to pick up. You deal 50 cards (two standard decks) into two overlapping pyramids – the bottom row has 9 cards in total. Only cards with no other cards on top of them are available to play. The goal is to remove all cards by discarding exposed pairs that add up to 13 (for example, an Ace (1) with a Queen (12), or a Ten (10) with a Three (3)). Kings count as 13 by themselves and can be discarded singly. If no pairs are available, click the stock pile to turn one card face-up into the waste pile. You get two passes through the stock to find matches. In short, clear all cards to win – if the stock is empty and no moves remain while cards are left, the game is lost.

  • Deal the Layout: Deal 50 cards into two overlapping pyramids (two decks). The top row has 1 card, the next row 2, and so on, with the bottom row containing 9 cards.
  • Remove Pairs: Discard any two uncovered cards whose ranks sum to 13. Valid pairs include Queen+Ace, Jack+2, 10+3, 9+4, 8+5, and 7+6. Kings are worth 13 and are removed on their own.
  • Use the Stock: When no more pyramid moves are available, click the stock pile to flip cards one at a time to the waste. The top waste card can be paired with pyramid cards. You may go through the stock up to two times (two redeals) to find matching cards.
  • Win the Game: Clear all cards to win. If you run out of moves (and redeals) before clearing the layout, the game ends and you can try again.

History of the Game 📜

Double Pyramid is a modern variant of Pyramid Solitaire created by game designer Thomas Warfield. In Warfield’s words, it’s “a two deck … game that I invented”. Essentially, he took the classic Pyramid rules and doubled the deck for extra challenge. The layout uses two interlocking pyramids with nine cards on the bottom row instead of the usual seven, effectively merging two pyramids into one big one. This variant first appeared in Warfield’s Pretty Good Solitaire collection and has since spread to many free online platforms. It quickly gained a niche following among card-puzzle fans, thanks to its tough, retro-flavored gameplay (only about 8% of games are winnable on average!).

How to play Spider Solitaire Online: A 10-Year Veteran’s Guide

If you’ve played a lot of Klondike or 2‑/4‑Suit Spider, 1‑Suit feels like breathing room: every descending run is automatically same‑suit, so any ordered sequence can move as a block. That simplicity shifts the skill ceiling from “re‑suiting” to tempo and space management—when you open empty columns, how you sequence cascades, and whether you deal from the stock at the right moment. Ask yourself: are you making moves just because they’re legal, or because they unlock more moves two steps later?

How to play Solitaire Turn 3 Online: A 20-Year Veteran’s Guide

Turn 3 is the same familiar Klondike—only the door to progress opens every third knock. Once you respect the rules (Kings‑only spaces; top‑waste access; preserved order on redeal) and the variant you’re in (unlimited vs. capped passes), the game shifts from “hoping for good flips” to engineering good flips. Practically, that means mapping the waste, using one‑move nudges to elevate key second cards, opening King‑ready columns, and pacing your foundations to keep both colors alive.
