🕹️ How to Play Monte Carlo Solitaire
Monte Carlo Solitaire (also known as "Pairs Solitaire") is all about removing adjacent matching pairs. It's simple to learn but challenging to master.
🔸 Objective:
Remove all pairs of adjacent cards that have the same rank (e.g., two Queens, two 5s, etc.).
🔸 Setup:
- A 5x5 grid of 25 cards is dealt from a standard 52-card deck.
- The remaining cards form the stock.
🔸 Gameplay:
- Look for any adjacent matching pairs — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
- Click to remove them both.
- After removing pairs, all remaining cards slide left to right, top to bottom, filling empty spaces.
- When no more moves are possible, deal additional cards into the grid.
- The game ends when the deck is exhausted and no more pairs can be made.
📜 History of Monte Carlo Solitaire
Monte Carlo Solitaire is a classic patience game that dates back to the early 20th century. Its name comes from the famous gambling capital Monte Carlo, though the game itself is pure luck and strategy, with no betting involved.
Like many traditional solitaire games, the exact inventor remains unknown. However, it has been passed down through generations and featured in countless physical and digital card game collections.
🎯 Rules Recap
✅ Match same-ranked cards (e.g., 4♦ and 4♠) ✅ Only adjacent cards (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) can be paired ✅ After removing pairs, cards slide to fill empty spaces ✅ Click "Deal" when you're out of moves ✅ Win by clearing all cards from the board!
💡 Tips & Tricks for Winning
🧠 Scan diagonals carefully — most people overlook diagonal matches. 🔁 Plan ahead — try to remove cards that will create new adjacent pairs. 🃏 Don’t rush to deal — exhaust all current moves before using the stock. 📦 Watch the grid flow — anticipate how the cards will shift after each removal.
Winning Monte Carlo is rare, so every victory is satisfying!

Welcome to Osmosis Solitaire! This unique patience card game – also known as "Treasure Trove" – offers a fresh twist on classic solitaire. In Osmosis, you build up four foundation piles by suit, but (unlike games like Klondike) you don’t have to follow numerical order. Instead, cards of the same rank “filter down” into lower foundations only after appearing in higher ones – a quirky mechanic that inspired the name Osmosis. It’s a friendly-yet-challenging solitaire variant that’s perfect for casual play.
