Russian Solitaire – A Strategic Solitaire Classic with a Twist

Welcome to Russian Solitaire – a unique and challenging variation of the beloved classic Solitaire card game. Played by enthusiasts who crave a deeper level of strategy, Russian Solitaire will test your patience, planning skills, and persistence. Dive into this exciting version directly in your browser with no downloads required, only at SolitaireX.

What Is Russian Solitaire?

Russian Solitaire is a single-player card game that uses a standard 52-card deck and shares some similarities with Yukon Solitaire and Klondike (Classic) Solitaire, but with a few key twists that make it more challenging and engaging. Cards are arranged into seven tableau piles, but unlike in classic solitaire, you can move groups of cards regardless of their sequence, provided the top card matches the proper suit and descending rank. This leads to more opportunities—and tougher decisions.

How to Play Russian Solitaire

  • Setup: The game starts with seven tableau columns. The first pile has one card, the second two, and so on, up to seven cards in the last column. All cards are face up.
  • Objective: Move all cards to the four foundation piles, sorted by suit and in ascending order from Ace to King.
  • Tableau Rules: Cards can be moved within the tableau in descending order and matching suits only (e.g., 8♠ on 9♠). You can move stacks of cards as long as they follow the same rule.
  • Empty Spaces: Only Kings (or a correctly sequenced group starting with a King) can be placed in empty tableau spaces.
  • No Stock Pile: There is no draw pile or waste pile, which means all your moves must be made directly from the tableau.

This strict adherence to suit-based stacking makes Russian Solitaire considerably harder than many other solitaire versions, but that’s part of its appeal.

How to play Spider Solitaire Online: A 10-Year Veteran’s Guide

If you’ve played a lot of Klondike or 2‑/4‑Suit Spider, 1‑Suit feels like breathing room: every descending run is automatically same‑suit, so any ordered sequence can move as a block. That simplicity shifts the skill ceiling from “re‑suiting” to tempo and space management—when you open empty columns, how you sequence cascades, and whether you deal from the stock at the right moment. Ask yourself: are you making moves just because they’re legal, or because they unlock more moves two steps later?

How to play Solitaire Turn 3 Online: A 20-Year Veteran’s Guide

Turn 3 is the same familiar Klondike—only the door to progress opens every third knock. Once you respect the rules (Kings‑only spaces; top‑waste access; preserved order on redeal) and the variant you’re in (unlimited vs. capped passes), the game shifts from “hoping for good flips” to engineering good flips. Practically, that means mapping the waste, using one‑move nudges to elevate key second cards, opening King‑ready columns, and pacing your foundations to keep both colors alive.
